Robin Gibb, one third of the group The Bee Gees, passed away on Sunday after a long battle with cancer at the age of 62. He was diagnosed with colon and liver cancer 2 years ago, and had since been in and out of the hospital frequently.

Gibb leaves behind a tremendous legacy, with album sales of more than 200 million since The Bee Gees’ early hits in the 1960s. The band charted for 5 decades, with beloved tracks like Stayin’ Alive and How Deep Is Your Love. He started the band with his brothers, Barry and Maurice, in 1958 and they rose to the top as frontrunners in the British music scene. Together they would go on to write not only their own number 1 songs, but huge hits for the likes of Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Celine Dion, and Destiny’s Child, among others.

After Sunday’s announcement, there has been an outpouring of love for Gibb on the Twitter community and the world. Justin Timberlake and Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks have expressed their condolences to Gibb’s family through the social media website. Our hearts go out to Gibb’s family in their time of need. Here’s an oldie for everyone to remember the golden days of Robin Gibb:
