On Saturday July 19, the Cristian Rivera Foundation hosted its first Freestyle Flashback Benefit Boatride in New York City on the world-famous Circle Line. The crowd danced to music from some of freestyle’s most famous divas, Lisette Melendez and Fascination, and enjoyed sets from two of New York City’s hottest DJs, DJ Big Paul and The Remix King DJ Tedsmooth, a Cristian Rivera Foundation Committee Member. Among those in attendance were Cristian Rivera Foundation founder John “Gungie” Rivera and many of Tedsmooth’s fellow Cristian Rivera Foundation Committee Members, including Steve Cox, Aldo Marin, Carlos Colon, Vito Bruno, Dennis Rodriguez and Nirav Patel. Acclaimed artist Pisu was also onboard the Circle Line cruise, where he painted an amazing work of art live at the event. The completed work was then sold in a silent auction to help raise money for the Cristian Rivera Foundation to help fund important research into the cure for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG). Committee Member Nirav Patel was the lucky winner, no doubt making him the envy of all his fellow passengers. Everyone on the boat had such a great time that plans are in the works to make the Cristian Rivera Foundation Freestyle Flashback Benefit Boatride an annual event.
