The Royal Wedding- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

Over the weekend, Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, got married to Meghan Markle, an American actress. This event is historical for a few reasons. First, Meghan Markle is an American Actress, and she does not come from royalty. Second, Meghan Markle is half African-American, making her the first African American Duchess of Sussex, or any member of royalty. Meghan identifies as a feminist and didn’t want to be “given away” to Harry. She arrived at the Chapel on her own and was accompanied by Prince Charles, her father-in-law, down the aisle. In addition, she has been previously married, something that is considered taboo in the royal family. She wore a beautiful Givenchy gown and spent months working with the designer. Congratulations to the new couple!
