USADA attempts to end tainted supplement cases

Since the partnership began between the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), there have been several accusations of tainted supplements being the culprit of failed drug tests. The most high profile case was of the former Light Heavyweight Champion, Jon Jones. Jones, and several others, cling to their innocence and blame contaminated products as the reason for their failure. USADA has identified one of the leading performance enhancing drugs, Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators(SARMs), to be the main source of failed drug tests. Most often, this drug SARM, is found contaminating other seemingly harmless products, such as protein powder. This can occur when companies don’t take proper precautions during production. USADA has teamed up with other organizations to try and ban this substance by law of the FDA. They have a long road ahead trying to eliminate the fabricated stories of fighters, who really did take a banned substance and accuse a tainted supplement, and the true accidental contamination, but with this new regulation set in motion, hopefully the innocent will be absolved.
