The KIA NBA MVP award was a landslide victory for Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic who received 91 out 100 first place votes. Jokic nearly averaged a triple-double during the regular season, averaging 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists a game while shooting over 56% from the field. The Nuggets lost All-Star point guard Jamal Murray in April to injury but finished the season 13-5 because of Jokic’s high level of play.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said Tuesday that an 18-year-old Brooklyn male has been charged with attempted murder and attempted assault for allegedly shooting a 5-year-old female in the head on a sidewalk in East New York as she was playing with her brothers.
