The Mandalorian: Release Date and More

The Mandalorian: Release Date and More

The Star Wars franchise struck gold a few years ago when they released the hit show The Mandalorian back in 2019. The show follows a lone ranger and Mandalorian, Din Djarin, on a journey through time and space to protect the alien child, Grogu (“Baby Yoda” for those who never learned his name), from enemy forces. As the show has gone on, the bond between the two characters has grown, and at the end of its second season, we all watched in tears as the father-son dynamic between the two became solidified in its heartwarming season 2 finale (a quick note for those who aren’t caught up with the show yet, the rest of this article will contain spoilers, so read at your own risk).

DC Studios are Mapping its Next 10-Year Plan: What’s Next?

Screenwriter James Gunn and movie producer Peter Safran have announced that they are currently working on DC Studios new 10 year plan. The DC franchise faced a series of failures and missteps since 2013 when they attempted to rival Marvel’s cinematic universe. The franchise also faced internal instability after Warner Bros bought by Warner Bros. Since the acquisition, Warner Bros. has consistently attempted to revamp DC. Part of the studio’s major overhauls included Warner Bros. hiring James Gunn and James Safron to work as co CEOs. In the Warner Bros. recent Discovery townhall, James Gunn discussed working on future plans.

Style Guide: How to Dress up Your Winter Coat

Style Guide: How to Dress up Your Winter Coat

This winter is full of potential to serve up some fresh looks, but navigating all of the latest trends can be tricky. That’s why I’ve compiled a list of 3 coat trends to try and some tips for accessorizing them. First off, consider what type of coat you’re going to wear! Knowing what piece you’re styling around will be crucial to inform the rest of your styling decisions. For example, if you plan on dressing up a longer jacket, you would want all of your accent pieces to play into the shape and length of the coat; so if your coat is going to cover up your legs, then you might opt not to wear statement boots which would be hidden by the coat. If you’re struggling to decide what kind of jacket to wear, consider one of these!

The Red Wave Never Came

The Red Wave Never Came

This week’s Tuesday, November 8th, was the United State’s midterm elections. In the days leading up to the results of the election, most mainstream media outlets, especially right-wing leaning ones, were pedaling the idea that there was an oncoming red wave of voters. This was assumed for a multitude of reasons. Unlike the Republicans, who seem to have voters fired up and ready to cast ballots year-round, Democrats historically perform worse in midterm elections. Many right-wingers were also expecting Republicans to show out in record numbers for book banning, Trump-backed election deniers, outspoken transphobic, and forced birthers. Unfortunately, this rhetoric unintentionally fired up the wrong demographic of voters. Although Republican voters showed up in relatively the same numbers, there was a surge of young democratic voters inspired to vote in the name of protecting the LGBTQ community and women’s right to choose.

The Silver Lining in Political Scandals

The Silver Lining in Political Scandals

When faced with something as unpleasant as political scandals it can be hard for people to find the positive side of things. More often than not, these types of scandals leave people feeling downtrodden, evoking feelings of mistrust and hopelessness in a system that we are told is meant to serve us, “the people.” But there is an expression that I think best sums up my outlook on the nature of political scandals, and it is that, “all press is good press.” That is to say, any attention brought to a cause, whether through scandal or not, has the potential to be beneficial.

Should Extreme Sports Be Banned?

Should Extreme Sports Be Banned?

Extreme sports have caused 4 million injuries since the year 2000 and 40,000 head and neck injuries annually, according to HealthDay.com. But they still continue to be played everyday! Some examples of these sports include BMX biking, skateboarding, mountain-climbing, snowboarding, and skiing. They are sports that have a dangerous twist. Unlike common sports like football, extreme sports are for people that are thrill-seekers and crave adrenaline. But my question is: is it worth the risk of dying? I would personally never partake in any of these sports.
