Ken Block, Action Sports Legend, Dies at 55
Ken Block, the pro rally racer who co-founded Hoonigan Industries, DC Shoes, and revolutionized the world of action sports and motorsports marketing, was killed in a snowmobile crash in Utah on Monday (Jan. 2). He was only 55 years old.

Why Fleabag is The Best Show in British Comedy
Starring the English actress and screenwriter Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fleabag is a comedy one woman show. Fleabag is the best story and script I have seen on television for a long time. The show broke a lot of the traditional rules of storytelling and focused on issues that TV traditionally doesn’t focus on. Like many of British comedy, Fleabag uses a lot of satire to portray raw emotions.
Brazil Celebrates Democracy and Lula’s Inauguration
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, better known as “Lula”, replaced Brazil’s far-right former president Bolsonaro. Bolsonaro notoriously supported the illegal farming of the Amazon Rainforest. His handling of covid also left Brazil’s indigenous population more vulnerable to the virus. Beyond harming his country’s land and people, he also threatened Brazil’s democracy. Bolsonaro has yet to concede the election– an election he has decidedly lost. Bolsonaro refused to attend Lula’s inauguration and now lives in Orlando, Florida, where he avoids criminal investigations.

It is no secret that the cosmetics industry has a nasty history of marketing beauty products that contain harmful ingredients and are dangerous for women of color. Infertility, fibroids, alopecia, and even cancer have plagued our communities as a result. In terms of clean and safe beauty, women of color are the most in need.

Hakeem Jeffries to make history as the first Black lawmaker to lead a party in Congress
A historic new group of leaders were chosen by House Democrats on Wednesday. As the new head of the Democratic Caucus, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries of New York will take over for Nancy Pelosi. The 52-year-old Jeffries will lead a party in Congress for the first time as a Black lawmaker. Katherine Clark of Massachusetts will serve as the whip, and Pete Aguilar of California, who now serves on the high-profile Jan. 6 committee, will be the No. 3 and the highest-ranking Latino in Congress. Members cast secret ballots during elections that were conducted behind closed doors. The three sprinted unchallenged.
