With this win, Shiffrin beats Lindsey Vonn’s women’s World Cup skiing record. Of Shiffrin’s 83 wins, 51 came in slalom, 18 in giant slalom, five in super-G, and three in downhill. This season has brought Shiffrin nine wins as she set a record for women’s Alpine racers and inched one win closer to the all-time mark for a skier of any gender.

Half Moon Bay Shooting: 7 People Killed, Suspect in Custody

At least seven people were killed Monday in a mass shooting at two farms in Half Moon Bay, California, authorities said. One person was also taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. All victims – seven men and one woman – were adults, authorities said. The victims were of Asian and Hispanic descent as well. The suspect has been identified as 67-year-old Chunli Zhao. Workplace violence is believed to be the motive for the shooting.
