On January 7th, the No. 1 Notre Dame Fighting Irish took on the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide for a chance to win the NCAA BCS National Title. This matchup was not only the biggest game of the college football season but one that was 25 years in the making. The last time these two teams faced off was way back in 1987! Despite all the hype, this big game turned out to be a big blow out. It was missed tackle after missed tackle while Alabama kept feeding their star running back Eddy Lacey, who ran for 140 yards and also had two touchdowns for the game. The Fighting Irish could not get anything going offensively either, and when they could move the ball, it was too late. The Crimson Tide made Notre Dame look like Nadda Dame! Even off the field, Alabama made a splash with the cameras focusing on Alabama Quarterback AJ Mcarron’s model-type girlfriend in the stands. That team clearly ruled the night with a final score of Alabama 42 – Notre Dame 14. This is Head Coach Nick Saban’s third title with Alabama in four years. If there was a Mount Rushmore for college football coaches, he’d certainly be on it, and rightfully so. With their constant depth at every position, The Crimson Tide will continue to be a major force in college football. Notre Dame, on the other hand? They need to hit the drawing board to see how they can become more of an elite team and gain experience from a Bowl game of this magnitude. All I can say now is……ROLL TIDE!

Brandon Moreno Confirms Pre-Existing Knee Injury Entering UFC 283
Fighters entering fights with undisclosed injuries is nothing new, but their opponents aren’t always aware of the injury so soon. In the opening round of UFC 283, Brandon Moreno was attacked by Deiveson Figueiredo on a compromised knee. In the first quadrilogy, Moreno defeated Figueiredo by 2-1-1 doctor stoppage in the third round. The fight was generally controlled by Moreno, but he found himself threatened by Figueiredo’s heel hook late in Round 1. Despite its name, the heel hook has devastating effects on knee ligaments.
