Ana De Armas Is Marilyn Monroe In
‘The Blonde’ Netflix Original

Actress Ana De Armas is starring as the iconic actress Marilyn Monroe in the new
Netflix Original movie, ‘The Blonde.’ From the blonde hair to the beauty marks on her
face, in the new teaser trailer for the movie viewers can see Armas fully transform into
Monroe. Netflix released a glimpse of the film’s trailer on June 16 featuring Aramas
looking almost exactly as Monroe.

The film, which was written and directed by Andrew Dominik, is based on the best
selling novel by Joyce Carol Oates originally titled Blonde. Oates’ novel tells the story of
Monroe’s life, exploring the differences between her public and private self. Blurring the
lines between fact and fiction, Blonde shows Monroe’s childhood as Norma Jean,
through her rise to stardom and the romantic entanglements that come with it.

In the new teaser trailer, we see Armas wearing Monroe’s signature red lip, faint black
beauty mark, and her iconic platinum blonde curls are reflected in a mirror as she looks
at herself. According to Netflix, Monroe’s signature look required Armas to spend nearly
three hours in hair and makeup each morning.

The teaser is able to reflect the split in Monroe’s life as Armas looks into the mirror, and
although she is physically upset and crying, her reflection giggles in a way that Marilyn
always did.

“Andrew’s ambitions were very clear from the start — to present a version of Marilyn
Monroe’s life through her lens,” said Ana de Armas in a statement. “He wanted the
world to experience what it actually felt like to not only be Marilyn, but also Norma
Jeane. I found that to be the most daring, unapologetic, and feminist take on her story
that I had ever seen.”

The movie is set to release on Friday, September 23 on Netflix.

Mind-Bending Movies to Watch if You Liked Inception

One of the best (and my personal favorite) genres in movie watching is mind-bending, also called thought-provoking movies. Movies that have hidden twist and turns just subtle enough to captivate and completely alter the audience’s perception of the film are exciting and riveting! Most mind-bending movies are fast paced with high stakes, revealing little bits and pieces of the ending so subtly that by the end of the movie, the audience doesn’t know what hit them!
