CHINATOWN, NYC: The Asian-American Guardian Angels will join with Asian-American community and business leaders to hold a major press conference to announce new patrols of Chinatown and the surrounding area after a wave of hate-inspired violence has targeted the Asian-American community in New York and across the country, on Monday, March 22, 2021, at 7:30 p.m., at the corner of Canal St. & Mott St., New York, NY. Business and community leaders and the citizen law enforcement group will detail where anti-Asian crime and violence is taking place and discuss where new patrols will be headed to preserve public safety. According to reports, there has been a 1,300 percent increase in anti-Asian hate crimes during the coronavirus pandemic in New York, including an unprovoked attack of an Asian man on Saturday. Eight people, including six of Asian descent, were killed in a mass shooting targeting massage parlors in Atlanta.
