How Music Helps the ADHD Brain Focus

Music is beneficial to our well-being in more ways than one, and I’m sure most people could attest to that. When it comes to studying for those finals or concentrating on an important task, music can help some but may serve as a loud distraction for others. However, for those of us with ADHD, music can help us concentrate more than we may know–and that’s thanks to our unique neurological makeup, which reacts exceptionally well to patterns and sensory-engaging stimuli. So, how can music help, and what type of music helps? Below are some of the ways it can help, along with input from leading ADHD experts.

George Santos Accused of Sexual Misconduct by Former Staffer

Representative George Santos, the embattled Long Island House Republican who for weeks has been under fire for falsifying his credentials and background, has been accused of sexual misconduct and an ethics violation by a former prospective staffer. The accuser, a 30-year-old named Derek Myers, wrote an open letter to the House Committee on Ethics detailing the allegations and requesting an investigation into the matter. In the letter, which has been publicly shared on Twitter, Myers claimed that he had been put to work in Santos’ office as a volunteer, which is in direct violation of ethics rules. He also outlined the alleged sexual harassment that occurred on January 25th.

4 Latina Fashion Designers Who Are Changing the Industry with Culture

It’s no secret that the fashion industry has always grappled with the issue of representation, and Latino representation is no exception. The glossy catwalks of the 80s and 90s were nearly completely dominated by the (white), nepotistic European fashion houses of the day with little room for Latino designers to showcase their talents, let alone share their culture with the world; for the few that did exist–Carolina Herrera and Isabel Toledo come to mind–their Latino identities were noticeably secondary to their work. But now it’s 2023, and though the industry is not without faults, Latino/a fashion enthusiasts can now see their cultures and experiences reflected in fashion at all levels. While plenty of Latino men have made their way in the fashion world, I’d like to specifically focus on the women–who have been historically vastly overlooked–who are changing the game and pushing the boundaries of design by bringing Latin America to high fashion.

Brady, whose return to the Buccaneers next season is still uncertain, casually admitted on the podcast that holding happens on every single play in the NFL. “Is there holding by the offensive line and defensive line on every play? Yes.” While “every” play does seem a bit exaggerated, according to sports outlets, it does make a lot of sense to fans who’ve long suspected that there is a lot more holding, which is the illegal use of the hand or arm to restrain another player who isn’t in possession of the ball, going on than referees are willing to–or can–whistle.
