Apple is Launching a New Classical Music App

Apple is planning to launch a standalone app that is specifically designed for streaming classical music. It is called Apple Music Classical and is expected to be available worldwide on March 28. This app is expected to offer access to more than five million classical music tracks, according to the company. It appears that Apple Music Classical will initially be limited to iPhone users, and the app will support “highest audio quality.” Users with AirPods will be able to enjoy spatial audio with no interruption from ads.

Alex Murdaugh’s Attorneys to Appeal Convictions, Life Sentences

On Thursday, attorneys for Alex Murdaugh filed a notice to appeal his convictions for the murder of his wife and son along with his life sentence. The trial in South Carolina lasted six weeks and included more than 75 witnesses but culminated in a jury taking less than three hours to find the 54-year-old Murdaugh guilty last week.

This offseason, however, Garoppolo is definitely leaving. Coach Kyle Shanahan has also already ruled out the quarterback’s return. According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, San Francisco 49ers free-agent quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo should have a relatively healthy market. And he believes that his market could include the Carolina Panthers.

House Votes to Expand Background Checks on Gun Sales

On Wednesday, the Michigan House of Representatives passed the first piece of legislation aimed at diminishing gun violence, advancing a bill to require background checks on all firearm purchases to the Senate for consideration. House Bill 4138 passed 56-53 along party lines Wednesday. The bill, introduced by Rep. Jaime Churches, D-Wyandotte, expands background checks for gun sales and purchases in Michigan.
