Bad Bunny Releases New Album, “Un Verano Sin Ti”

“Un verano sin ti,” Spanish for “A summer without you,” is the name of Bad Bunny’s latest record, released just today after two years since his last studio album. The new album is 1 hour and 20 minutes long and it has 23 songs featuring collaborations with artists like Rauw Alejandro, Bomba Estéreo, The Marías, and Chencho Corleone.

Un Verano Sin Ti is available to stream through Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, Pandora, and YouTube, where it collected over 10 million views in just a couple of hours. “Moscow Mule” , which is the first track of the album, also has a music video. The other songs feature a 360 shooting of Bad Bunny and his team during a day at the beach.

This can be considered by far the most experimental work by the artist, it has a strong Caribbean influence, and it doesn’t shy away from including some Lo-Fi sounds in tracks like “Un coco,” Indie-pop collaborations like “Otro atardecer” featuring The Marías, and even venturing into some Bossa rhythms for the track “No soy celoso.”

For fans of his previous work, there is plenty of party Reggaeton as well. And even though this new album was just dropped, fans on social media are already asking for a vinyl release. This album release also follows a recent announcement that the rapper has landed a Marvel acting role, as he will be interpreting a character called El Muerto in the Spider-Man Universe. This is not his first incursion into acting, as he did a small cameo for Fast and Furious 9, and he also had a storyline in WWE, including one big fight in WrestleMania. He will also be acting in an action movie called Bullet Train alongside no other than Brad Pitt.

When asked about his fourth and newest album release he said that he had always made it clear that every album he created would not be the same as the others. He said his new work is Caribbean in every sense, including reggaeton, mambo, dembow, and all the rhythms that he likes.
