Born Rebecca Lynn Hammon, Becky Hammon is an American professional basketball coach and a former player.  She was a three-time All-American basletball player for the Colorado State Rams and played for the San Antonio Stars and New York Liberty in the WNBA. 

She became a naturalized Russian citizen in 2008 and represented the Russian national team in 2008 and 2012 in the Olympics. 

She now is a coach in the NBA for the San Antonio Spurs.  She is the second female assistant coach in NBA history and is the first female full-time assistant coach in NBA History.  In this role, she aided the Suprs’ Las Vegas summer team to the title in 2015, and in 2018 she was promoted to the front of the Spurs’ bench.
