Ever want to throw a nice book into your beach bag but don’t want something too lengthy or wordy to consume your day in the sun? Here are the top three best books you can bring along to keep you entertained while you lay in the sand.
1. The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
The night before the wedding of his ex-girlfriend, Drew is beside himself due to his lack of a plus one. But fate was on his side when riding the elevator with Alexa Monroe, the chief of the staff for the city’s mayor because after being stuck together due to a power outage on the elevator, Alexa agreed to attend the wedding with Drew. They decide to act like they had been together all along to fool Drew’s friends and in doing so start to fall for each other. The novel focuses on Alexa and Drew’s journey attempting to make room for each other in their lives but struggle along the way. This is one of my personal favorites and was my go-to beach book but only was able to bring it twice because I read it so fast!
2. When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger
This novel is based on the “Devil Wears Prada,” character, Emily Charlton and takes place in Greenwich, Connecticut. After leaving her boss, Miranda, she had been working as an image consultant, helping stars who get a bad photo taken or a bad rumor spread about them. But she struggled to get enough clients to be successful. After getting arrested, Karolina Hartwell, a beautiful supermodel is the perfect opportunity for Emily to get back in business. The book takes you through their journey to clear Karolina’s name and avoid the uppity and judgemental moms of Greenwich.
3. Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
The #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer Weiner released a novel about friendship and learning to forgive during a nightmare of a wedding on Cape Cod. After a broken friendship, Daphne is taken aback when her ex-friend Drue asks if she will be her maid of honor. Daphne has grown so much since they were last friends and built her platform and identity and is no longer Drue’s high school sidekick. But, when Drue pleads with her, Daphne cannot turn the request down. The novel takes you through these women’s friendship and about realizing what matters most in your life.
