According to ABC News, Kelly Rowland bought singer Beyonce Knowles and her husband Sean “Jay-Z” Carter a $5,200 diamond studded bathtub for their baby to bathe in. Rowland, who used to sing with Beyonce in Destiny’s Child, gave the tub to the beloved couple to make up for revealing the baby’s sex to the press at the Cosmopolitan Awards. “I have no idea what I’m going to buy Beyonce at the baby shower because Jay is going to buy that little girl every single thing possible.” Rowland said in a red carpet interview with Britain’s BANG Showbiz. Until then, the couple had tried to keep the baby’s gender a secret. At least the baby will be able to bathe in luxury.
As for the tub, it was designed by California’s Lori Gardner, and the 44,928 imported Swarovski crystals were applied by hand in a process that took two months. According to the designer, the bathtub can also be used as a beverage chiller for parties or as a pet tub. Rowland bought Knowles and Z the pink version. Who knows what they’ll do with it.
