Bills @ Dolphins Thursday Night Football Preview

Tonight, on Amazon Prime Video’s first Thursday Night Football game of the season, the 1-0 Bills will take on their division rival 1-0 Dolphins. Every time these teams face off, it’s been a must-watch. Four out of the last five matchups have been decided by just one possession. I predict another close game tonight, along with a few other trends continuing.

In Josh Allen’s career against the Miami Dolphins, he has 3,363 yards, 33 touchdowns, and just 7 picks in 12 games. His record in these games is 10-2 with only one of those losses coming against their current QB Tua Tagovailoa. But Allen comes into this week with an injury to his non-throwing hand. He says he is “ready to go” and played off the injury as minimal, yet he was seen wearing a protective glove at practice.

The Bills will probably play things a bit safer tonight to avoid making things worse. I believe this will be a ground-and-pound game from the Bills, using James Cook and Ray Davis in the running game rather than Allen.

On Miami’s side of things, they are down their starting RB Raheem Mostert who will be out with a chest injury. Their other star runner De’Von Achane is questionable for tonight and will likely be a game-time decision. This could mean more carries for rookie Jaylen Wright out of Tennessee.

Miami will probably try to get air it out getting Hill and Waddle involved early. With that said, I think the Bills defense has their number and will slow things down forcing the Dolphins to change their game plan. I foresee a low-scoring affair with Buffalo edging out Miami.

Final Score Prediction: Bills-27 Dolphins-20

Kickoff is tonight at 8:15 EST on Amazon Prime Video
