Bio

Bobby Vee was an American singer-songwriter. Born in 1943, Vee grew up in a Norwegian family in North Dakota. Vee’s career in music began in 1959, when he filled in for the Traveling Dance Party after three of its four acts died in a plane crash. That same year he released his first single Suzie Baby with Soma Records.
 
Vee’s second single, a cover of What Do You Want, managed to chart on the Billboard pop chart. Vee continued to see smaller successes as his career grew, but it was his fifth single, Rubber Ball, that thrusted him into international fame.
 
Vee became one of biggest music sensations in the 1960s, helping pioneer the music video and also breaking into acting. Vee released 38 singles and 26 albums in his carrer, with six singles and one album going gold.
 
Vee continued to produce music and tour until he was diagnosed with Alzheimers in 2011. Vee passe away in 2016.
