Camila Cabello to Replace Kelly Clarkson on ‘The Voice’

Kelly Clarkson is bidding farewell to the singing competition show, “The Voice,” after eight years of serving as a judge. Clarkson has led four acts, including bands and singers, to victory throughout eight seasons.

The announcement about Clarkson’s departure has made little to no noise on social media or in media in general. Clarkson has yet to acknowledge that she will be leaving the show. It wasn’t until ‘The Voice’ tweeted Sunday, May 15, that the coaches/judges on the show, during its fall return, would be Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Camila Cabello, which also confirms that Ariana Grande will not be returning to the NBC show.

The tweet reads, “Give a warm welcome to your Voice Coaches. [heart emoji] #TheVoice returns this fall with @blakeshelton, @johnlegend, @gwenstefani, and @Camila_Cabello,” which also featured a video of the group.

Shortly after, Cabello shared the same announcement on her TikTok account, confirming the new team for the NBC competition show.

Clarkson hasn’t made an expected announcement about her departure from the show or why she is leaving. However, it is said to be because she is simply busy. As of last year, she is now the primary host of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” which films daily. She is also hosting the “American Song Contest,” which also happens to be another music competition show.

Since “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is coming to an end this year, “The Kelly Clarkson Show” will fill the time slot previously taken for the Ellen Show. Clarkson’s talk show includes music performances from Clarksons herself and has since become a big hit.

Singer and coach on the competition show, John Legend, shared his thoughts about Cabello joining the show stating, “Camila has all the experience she needs to be the perfect advisor for our team. She has navigated a singing competition before and done very well in it. She was part of a group, and in this battle setting, where the artist is dueting with each other, that’s a very important skill to have.”
