Chantal Convertini is a photographer whose work embodies the term “raw beauty.” She uses film exclusively, giving her photos that sensational, somewhat smoothed out look. She got in to film because, as someone who grew up as a part of the digital revolution, film was a new experience for her when she discovered it, and she fell in love.

 She is a master of playing with light in creative ways and while the elements in the photos are simplistic, like an empty room with just a woman and a ray of light, they convey perfectly a wide rage of emotions from sorrow to brevity to sensuality, and do so beautifully.

 She tells her fans and other artists to remember “creating is something for the heart, not something for your head.”
