Chloe Kim Wins the Halfpipe Finals

Chloe Kim, an infamous American snowboarder who is just 20 years old, is once again making history by winning the Halfpipe Finals after taking 22 months off from competition. During this time, she attended her first year of college and recovered from a broken ankle.

The 2021 Laax Open was held in Switzerland and put Kim on the world stage. Despite taking those 22 months off, she also earned 94.00 points at the Women’s Halfpipe Semifinals. At the finals, Mitsuka Ono and Sena Tomita finished behind her in second and third place.

Chloe Kim, who was born in Long Beach, California, has already made her name in the world of snowboarding through her many accomplishments. She not only won an Olympic gold medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics but is also a five-time X Games gold medalist. She is the first woman to win two gold medals in snowboarding at the Winter Youth Olympic Games and can be found on Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2018.
