"New" Artist of the Month for February 2023
Corinne Savage, better known to audiences as Corook, is an American singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, producer, and LGBT icon. Corook grew up on the outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she spent her days listening to Gwen Stefani, Drake, and Mac Miller, as well as attending a performing arts high school. She continued pursuing her love for music in college, at Berklee College of Music, where she obtained not one but two degrees.
Corook currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. This is where she formed her stage name and her own musical presence. She began making her own music in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic whilst in quarantine and has continued to create new music since. Her first EP, Achoo! Came out in 2022. The EP featured some previous releases of hers, including “Sims,” “idk god,” and “degree,” as well as a couple of new songs. Corook’s most recent releases, “The dog,” “Your mom,” and “Realistic,” are all featured on her 2023 released single, The Dog. Although so far, “it’s ok,” a song she released last year, has been her most popular.
This new indie-pop artist has also performed live. Her first live performance under her alias was in 2022, where she performed as an opening act alongside indie artist, Upsahl. Together they opened for the rapper, K.Flay. Corook’s next live performance will be this March as the opening act for the singer-songwriter Maddie Zahm.
