David Kushner is one of the many new American artists that took 2023 by storm. Kushner moved to Los Angeles from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, to start his music career in 2022. Kushner is one of the many new artists that has accredited social media to his success.

His his first album Footprints I Found’s fourth and sixth songs Miserable Man and Mr. Forgettable went viral on TikTok, quickly garnering him a large online fanbase. Kushner gained further attention after his April 2023 track Daylight, apart of his recent Dead Man + Daylight album, went viral once again on that app, reaching even more people thanks to an accompanying trend alongside the single’s release.

Daylight debuted at number 33 on the US Billboard Hot 100, number six on the Canadian Hot 100, and number three on the UK Singles Chart.
