Days of Abandonment

The Days of Abandonment is currently in pre-production for HBO Films. This film will be an adaptation of Ella Ferrante’s best-selling novel of the same name.

Natalie Portman will be an executive producer for this film alongside the author, and she will also be starring in the movie. Days of Abandonment will be written and directed by Maggie Betts.

The storyline of the film will follow Tess, played by Portman, who left behind her wish for a stable home life only to later be abandoned by her husband.

The book was previously adapted as an Italian film in 2005. The original adaption, which was directed by Roberto Faenza, was critically acclaimed.

While not much else is known about the HBO film, it is currently in pre-production and is highly anticipated by audiences.
