Rafael Castillo Torres aka De la Ghetto, is an American rapper and singer. Born in the Bronx, New York, Torres grew up with his grandmother in San Juan, Puerto Rico, at age eight. His music career began in 200o4, when he met the then young musician Austin Santos aka Arcángel, and formed the music duo Arcángel & De la Ghetto. Both men debuted with their single Ven, Pégate in 2005. 

Outside the duo, Torres began making music with Baby Records, featuring on a variety of collaborations and compilation albums until his solo career began a year later. His debut studio album Masacre Musical was released in 2008 and peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, with its lead single Tú Te Imaginas reaching the 33 spot on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks chart.

Torres’s style consisted as a fusion of reggaeton, hip hop and trap. TOrres would later be credited for creating the Latin trap music genre.

Torres has released six studio albums, five mixtapes, and two compilation albums. His collaborations include artists like J Alvarez, Los Vagos, Fetty Wap, Ana Mena and Becky G, Bad Bunny and more.
