The NFL offseason always has its big moments, from trades and free agent signings, but no story has been bigger than Deshaun Watson’s legal issues this year. The Houston Texans’ quarterback has over 22 civil lawsuits filed against him for sexual assault by therapists who have worked with him. The first round of civil suits were filed in March 2021 and more suits could still be in the process of being filed. The most recent round of suits have triggered Nike and Beats by Dre to take action with the two companies sponsoring Watson. Nike has decided to suspend their deal with Watson, while Beats by Dre have ended their relationship with him. Nike and Beats are the first major sponsors to suspend or cut ties with Watson since the start of suits being filed. The NFL is doing their own investigation on the matter and have not administered any punishment to Watson as of now.
After what many – including myself – thought was a fluke win by the Milwaukee Bucks in game three, the team stormed back again at home in game four to pull through in a surprising 107-96 win and tied this second-round playoff series with the Brooklyn Nets at 2-2.
