Dick’s Sporting Goods to Hire 9,000 Employees

As the holiday season approaches, Dick’s Sporting Goods has announced that it will be hiring up to 9,000 new employees.  Last year they hired 8,000 seasonal employees, so this marks a 12.5% increase from last year.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the country experienced a retail crisis.  Dick’s has defied the odds by revamping services in their stores and online.  As such, Dick’s will be hiring workers to fulfill roles in curbside contactless pickup and ship-from-store services in addition to extra staff and in-store services.

This increase in hires follows second-quarter ecommerce sales growth of 194%.  Additionally, those hired will receive benefits such as 15% pay premium through the end of the year.  They will also receive up-to a 25% off store discount.

Though all Dick’s Sporting Goods and affiliate stores will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday offers will be available online.

These new recruiting efforts are to be launched on October 14, “National Signing Day.”  Those interested can learn more and apply online at dicks.com/jobs.
