Dilated Peoples is an American from Los Angeles. The group formed in 1992, consisting of music artists DJ Babu, Evidence, and Rakaa Iriscience. Their first single “Third Degree” was released in 1997 with on ABB Records. It wasn’t until 2000 that they released their first album The Platform with Capitol Records.

 

Dilated Peoples made huge waves within the underground rap scene, gaining a wide audience through concerts and performances at festivals. The group was active for 17 years and wrote five albums and over 10 singles. 

 

The group has collaborated with other LA-affiliated groups including Likwit Crew, Tha Alkaholiks. Additionally, some of their music appeared on games from Platinum Games and EA.

 

After a brief hiatus, where the Dilated Peoples members focused releasing solo music, the group reformed in 2022 and has gone on strong.
