Dua Lipa Explains How She Feels She Manifested Her Collab With Elton John

Dua Lipa, the three time Grammy award winner and singer of the most streamed song in 2021, visited Stephen Colbert on “The Late Night Show.” There were several great topics touched on during this interview. Lipa asked how Colbert felt about his faith and comedy overlapping. The pair also talked about Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia” World Tour. Then Lipa began reminiscing on how she was in a bikini and cowboy hat when Elton John FaceTimed her to collaborate on the song “Cold Heart.”

Lipa mentioned how she had the chance to perform with John for his AIDS foundation for the Oscars opening. Then, they had dinner in Los Angeles. Lipa began to retell the story like this: “I was hanging out by the pool before going to do some writing and all of a sudden my phone rings and it’s a FaceTime from Elton and his husband David, casual, I mean it’s not that casual,” she laughs.

“I feel like I manifested this in a way,” she says. “‘Rocket Man’ is my driving song, it’s my shower song, it’s my song I sing along to myself. I like to sing along to it, I love the song. So when I got asked to sing that part, I was like, ‘OK, it was just meant to be.’”

Colbert then jumped in and joked “Elton I’m available too, I’m a huge fan, I also know the lyrics to Rocket Man.”
