Guitarist and co-founder of band Van Halen passed away on October 6, 2020. He died at Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, California Tuesday morning at the age of 65. His death followed his long battle with cancer. Eddie Van Halen initially confirmed his diagnosis in April of 2001.
Van Halen is an American rock band from Pasadena, California. Founded in 1972, Van Halen quickly grew in popularity and was introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Additionally, Eddie was ranked number 8 greatest guitarist by Rolling Stone magazine.
Many are saddened by the news of Eddie Van Halen’s passing and have shared words of kindness and tribute online. His brother shared a post saying “Hey Ed. Love You. See you on the other side. Your Brother, Al” accompanied by a black and white image of the two from childhood.
His son Wolf Van Halen took to twitter to share tribute to his father as well.
