Reggaetón Artist of the Month for April 2021
Farina, born Farina Pao Paucar Franco is a Colombian rapper and raggaeton singer who was the first woman to make raggaeton music professionally in the country. Farina’s first big break was in 2005 when she came in third on the X-Factor (Colombia) and she has since become the second-ever Colombian, after Shakira, to be signed to Jay-Z’s label.
In addition to her many successful singles released, the artist has become an in-demand collaborator on other songs, and is featured in almost as many pieces as she herself has singles. In 2019, her song was the chosen single from the feature film soundtrack for “Miss Bala.” She has also had an acting career of her own. In 2011, she began starring in the Colombian TV series Tres Milagros. A role for which she was nominated for Best Actress and Revelation of the Year at the TV y Novelas Awards in Colombia.
She is currently managed by Sony Music Latin and is known for hits like “Mucho Pa Ti,” Así Así,” “A Fuego,” and “Como Una Kardashian.”
