Athlete of the Month for November 2024
Francisco Lindor was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico where he fell in love with the game of baseball at an early age. He moved to Florida when he was twelve and quickly developed into one of the best players in the state. The Florida State Seminoles offered him a full ride to play for their team but Lindor was drafted by the then Cleveland Indians in the first round of the 2011 Draft.
Lindor wasn’t called up to the majors until 2015, that year he placed second in the AL Rookie of the Year Award voting. The very next season he helped lead Cleveland to a World Series appearance, and earned his fist gold and platinum glove awards. Now with the Mets, Lindor carried the team to just their 11th playoff appearance in history.
