GAZE THE STARZ

You may have binged all the good stuff on Netflix or Hulu, but there’s more to watch on the STARZ app like the latest movies and some new STARZ  network series.

During this quarantine everyone has been binge watching and catching up on their latest tv series and starting new ones. More movies have been added and some debuted. With Netflix and Hulu being the top two streaming networks some people have forgotten about other television streaming apps and networks such as STARZ and On Demand with xfinity (comcast).

The STARZ app offers a free trial just as Netflix and Hulu, but STARZ is a 7-day free trial and after the 7 days, it’s $8.99 per month and you can access the app on any compatible device such as your laptop, tablet, and cell phone. STARZ  debuts their own network original series like popular show Power by 50 Cent. STARZ is also popular on xfinity for showing the latest movies. Some movies, network original series, and tv shows that Netflix and Hulu don’t have are seen here on their app.

STARZ just rolled out a list of new movies on their app that was recently in theaters, but are now available through their app or xfinity On Demand under the STARZ network channel. Thos movies include:

  • Charlie’s Angels (2019)
  • Black and Blue (2019)
  • Spider-Man Far from Home (2019)
  • Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019)
  • Escape Room (2019)

If you’re interested in some older throwback movies they are also offered on STARZ. Some options include popular movies such as Nutty Professor I and II, Scarface, Ice Age, and even Garfield. They also offer superhero and kid friendly movies to add some family time streaming during quarantine.

The finale of Marvel’s Loki aired last week, but it probably left more questions than answers for the MCU fans. In the end-credits of the finale, it is revealed that Loki will return for season two, making it the first Marvel TV series on Disney Plus to have a second season.

Kenan Thompson Nominated for Two Emmy Awards

It has been a truly remarkable year for actor and comedian Kenan Thompson. He just came off of his eighteenth year on ‘Saturday Night Live,’ his new sitcom ‘Kenan’ premiered on NBC with a stellar first season, and he is being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a part of the Class of 2022. Now, adding on to all of those other accomplishments, Thompson has been nominated for two Emmy Awards!

Are Adult Cartoons Relying on “Gross-Out” Humor?

Before you call me a party pooper: I’m the first to laugh at a potty joke, and the last to stop laughing. From a young age, I’ve found them enjoyable, and to this day I live by the code, “never too prideful for potty jokes.”
But there’s a point where you need more. One pattern that I’ve noticed in TV shows, especially in adult cartoons, is the tendency to lean into potty humor as the show progresses.

Why ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Is Better Than ‘The Bachelorette’

After a brief hiatus following the conclusion of Matt James’ season of ‘The Bachelor,’ ‘The Bachelorette’ has finally started airing. This season features Bachelorette Katie Thurston, a 30-year-old woman from Seattle who is looking to meet the love of her life. While the season has been entertaining thus far — and is there anyone sweeter than Michael?! — I can’t help but count down the days until ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ premieres in August.

Already Missing ‘The Bold Type?’ Watch ‘Good Trouble’ on Hulu

Hit Freeform show ‘The Bold Type’ airs its final episode on June 30th, and many fans are devastated. I personally did not know what to do with myself upon hearing that ‘The Bold Type’ would come to an end this summer after falling in love with characters Jane, Sutton, Kat, and their journey at Scarlet Magazine. However, after hours of browsing Netflix and Hulu, I discovered another show with strong female friendships and an interest in examining current news: Freeform’s ‘Good Trouble.’

Why ‘Fleabag’ is a Modern Masterpiece

Fleabag is a TV show created by, written by, and starring British actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Adapted from her one-woman show, the story follows a woman only known as Fleabag, as she navigates her life in London. The premise may not seem very interesting, but the show has been hailed as one of best TV series in the 21st Century by many critics.
