George Steinmetz is an American photographer from Los Angeles, whose work has been featured in publications such as The New Yorker, Smithsonian, TIME, The New York Times Magazine, and he is also a regular contributor to National Geographic magazine.

Steinmetz began his career in photography in New York City after hitchhiking through Africa for 28 months in his twenties, and his goal is to create an aerial perspective on climate change and global food supply. Steinmetz has been piloting a motorised paraglider while capturing some stunning aerial shots, and he has won numerous prizes for his work, including three prizes from World Press Photo.
