Grace Jones is a Jamaican-American supermodel, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She was born in Jamaica and moved to Syracuse, New York with her siblings and parents. Jones began her modeling career in New York State signing to Wilhelmina Models then moving to Paris in the 1970s.

She began working for fashion houses such as Yves St. Laurent, Claude Montana, and Kenzo Takada for runway modeling. Also, Jones has appeared on the covers of Elle, Stern, and Vogue working for photographers such as Jean-Paul Goude, Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Hans Feurer. She is most recognized for distinctive androgynous appearance and bold features.

In the 1970s, Jones embarked on a music career becoming a star of New York City’s Studio 54-centered disco scene. She has also appeared in films like Conan the Destroyer and the 1985 James Bond movie A View to a Kill.
