Because of the pandemic, which has caused people to lose jobs and their means of support, food pantries have been overwhelmed by the demand. The Guardian Angels have seen fights & assaults take place as people are waiting for groceries. Our Coney Island patrol, led by Crazy J, was made aware of a man who would come openly brandishing a knife and threatening the director and the patrons of the Salt & Sea Mission. The food giveaway takes place Sunday, Tuesday & Thursday from 8am to 1pm. On average 300 families received badly needed groceries to get them through the week. The police did not respond and instead the Guardian Angels are there every morning to keep the peace. They protect the patrons and the volunteers of the food pantry. If not for the Guardian Angels help they might not have been able to continue this desperately needed program. There are pantries all over the world that are in need of this kind of help. Here’s another example of how the Guardian Angels make a difference every day.
