The Guardian Angels in NYC have begun to patrol Chinatown to ease the fear and anxiety of the Chinese community. Because of the growth and spread of the coronavirus many Chinese are being looked at as possible disease-carriers. As a result if they are seen wearing a mask they are at times harassed and verbally abused. In other instances teenagers begin to verbally abuse Asians who walk past them. There have been a few confrontations so before it gets out of hand the Guardian Angels are spreading their presence into Chinatown. Unfortunately the politicians and the police are not even cognizant for the most part in terms of how things many get ugly. We will not wait until it’s too late. We are taking preemptive action now to stop the problem in its tracks.
