Flashback Athlete of the Month for June 2022
After his 15-season career with the New York Rangers of the NHL, Swedish hockey goaltender, Henry Lundqvist, retired on January 28 of 2021. Lundqvist is 40 years old, born on March 2nd of 1982 in Are, Sweden. Since his arrival to the NHL in 2005, Lundqvist has won the Vezina Trophy and was nominated thrice beforehand. He has been named “King Henrik” by many Rangers fans, largely because of his remarkable rookie season. Lundqvist worked diligently to be considered one of New York’s top prospects and his legacy of great saves and dependability will live on far beyond his days on the ice.
