In the latest episode of Home Plate NY, it was a blast to have the 2009 World Series Most Valuable Player Hideki Matsui on board. That Series just happened to be the last World Series that the Yankees have appeared in.
Hideki put on a sparkling performance in the kitchen by showing chef Marcus that he wasn’t afraid to try his hand at making sushi at his favorite restaurant, Sushi You.
Hideki was so fluid and smooth at handling the kitchen utensils that you would have thought that he was one of the chefs.
Interpreter and long-time Yank’s overseas advisor George Rose did a great job at keeping everyone abreast of overall communication even though Hideki does know the language better than he lets on.
Hideki actually spoke about life after baseball and the fact that he and his family have become true New Yorkers. He also spoke about the charity that he supports, Matsui 55 baseball.
Mr. and Mrs. Miku Suzuki are the owners of this wonderful little restaurant and they were also the perfect hosts.
Oh, and by the way… the food was incredible!
