Hope was brought in to the Brooklyn Animal Care & Control as a stray. At just 3 years old she had an ulcerated mass between her shoulder blades and mineralized chicken bones in her stomach. Clearly her life had been difficult for some time but it was about to get worse as she was immediately placed on the Kill-List. Her placement on that list meant she was unavailable for public adoption and was at the mercy of a rescue group to save her. So the Guardian Angels Animal Protection stepped in to save her life and give her that well deserved second chance.
As soon as we got Hope rescued we brought her to our vet for immediate surgery to remove the huge growth. Surgery was difficult due to the size of the mass and her compromised immunity living with this condition for so long but she had a will to live that was undeniable. Hope made it through her surgery and has been in recovery with us since then. Each day she has become healthier and more playful and has truly turned out to be a superstar cat. In the coming weeks Hope will be ready for the next step of her journey, finding a forever home. Hope’s second chance at life is only possible because of the generous contributions for the Animal Protection program for which we are truly grateful. And Hope extends her gratitude as well with two paws up!
