I hope Mike Tyson knocks out Jake Paul in one punch. (Op-Ed)

Jake Paul needs to get his ego checked. The YouTuber has been a part of numerous controversies and is a general nuisance to the public. Now he thinks of himself as a professional boxer worthy of taking on notorious champion Mike Tyson in a summer Netflix event.

Jake Paul “has been accused of scamming young fans by selling them educational programs on becoming rich and famous online,” was charged with criminal trespassing and unlawful assembly for not leaving the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall after protestors were asked to leave the area in 2020, and was accused of sexual assault by TikTok star Justine Paradise in 2021, according to Karla Rodriguez of Complex. Railey Lollie, a model, also accused Paul of sexual misconduct, while his ex-girlfriend, Alissa Violet, said he emotionally and mentally abused her during their relationship.

Not to mention his Team 10 house drove his neighbors insane with their loud, raucous, and disruptive behavior resulting in a lawsuit.

Who better to bruise Paul’s pride than 57-year-old heavyweight boxer Mike Tyson?

“He’s [Jake Paul] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT. It’s a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him off on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now, I plan to finish him,” Tyson said in a statement. Tyson added that he is “very much looking forward to stepping into the ring.” So am I.

I, for one, would love to see Mike Tyson take down Jake Paul with a singular punch. Tyson is an experienced boxer, an absolute icon with the skill and strength to take Paul down a peg. Paul’s arrogance and inflated ego do not bode well for him; he will likely get too cocky, as he has for years, and get knocked out. The 26-year-old is a nuisance and his presence in the sport is a stain. To challenge one of the most well-known boxers in the world is a testament to his entitlement, and I hope Paul goes down in the first round. He deserves to suffer the consequences of his actions for once.

Mike Tyson, please don’t let me down. I need a good laugh.
