José Álvaro Osorio Balvín aka J Balvin is a world renowned Colombian Reagetton singer-songwriter. Born in Medellin, Colombia, Balvin got his interest in Reggaeton music from Daddy Yankee. After a short time in the United States studying Reggaeton and rap music in his teens, Balvin returned to his home city, where he began his career performing in clubs. It was only after enrolling in EAFIT University, where he officially donned the J Balvin stage name.

 

Officially beginning his professional career in 2009, Balvin has climbed the ranks to eventually become a titan in his industry. Producing six solo albums, featured in a plethora of collaborating singles, and selling over over 35 million records sold worldwide, Balvin is considered to be one of the best selling Latin artists in the world.
