Jacqueline Is one of the most creative designers Designing costumes for some of our favorite films such as Pride and Prejudice, Beauty and the Beast, and even the new Barbie movie! Jacalene has been nominated for not one but two Oscars for her designs and won both of them! Jacqueline did not study costume design, she got her knowledge from working in the film industry by going to work at a costume house in Dublin called Angels where they hire costumes. This is where she met other designers and started to learn everything about costume design.

While Jacqueline Durran graduated college from the Royal College of Art she did not study costume design. Her friend Lindsay introduced her to vintage fashion such as what was seen in Jacqueline’s designs in “Little Woman”. Jacqueline said in an interview that she never knew that costume design was a job that existed when she was younger and all the way throughout college and even after graduation. Jacqueline got the job working at Angels because she was able to date close in the 20th century after leaving university she had a market installed and sold vintage clothing at Camden and Portobello road markets.

After Jacqueline left Angels she then went on to work with Lindy Hemming Who she ended up assisting for five years after she left Angels. Learning all of the little things and the big things such as how to be a designer for big films. Jacqueline is an amazing designer and not just that she brings our imagination to life.
