Jamie Lee Curtis Dresses Up For ‘Halloween Kills’ Premiere

During the premiere for the next installment in the Halloween franchise, Jamie Lee Curtis showed up dressed as iconic Psycho character, Marion Crane, played by her late mother, Janet Leigh.

Curtis donned a blonde wig and pale blue dress along with a bloodied shower curtain on her arm. In an interview, Curtis said, “I am honoring my beautiful late mama, Janet Leigh, but…it’s a little more meta than that.” She was referring to the fact her costume was more reminiscent of Scarlet Johansson in the film Hitchcock, which tells the true story of how the director and his wife created the iconic honor movie. The original Psycho was filmed in black and white, so the true color of the dress worn by Leigh was not known until the later film was released. Curtis also said that she thought people would think of her costume as being a “‘50s housewife” without a bloodied curtain to show how the character met her end in the movie.

However, the main star was not the only one to come in costume. Producer Jason Blum showed up as Curtis’ own famous character, Laurie Strode, in a blonde wig, green jacket, and white shirt, while director David Gordon Green dressed as an old school movie theater worker.

Halloween Kills premieres Friday October 15th in theaters and streaming on Peacock.
