Flashback Athlete of the Month for March 2022

From La Mirada, California, Jennie Finch grew up in a family who had a love for playing softball. Her dad was her first pitching coach. She went to the University of California, Los Angeles, to play as a bat girl. She majored in communications at the University of Arizona.

When Finch played at La Mirada High School, she received the three-year team MVP award and was chosen by Jump Magazine as the No. 1 high school recruit. She represented Team USA in the softball games in 2010 and became the 2010 World Cup Champion.

As Finch retired from playing softball, she still has the love for it as she wears sweatpants 99 percent of the time. She retired from softball to focus on her family, but she is also involved with different charities including the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and FCA Softball.
