This season, the most exciting family adventure is at the movies. Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is the sequel to 2008’s Journey to the Center of the Earth but you don’t have to have seen the first movie to get sucked into the thrills and suspense that Journey 2 has to offer. Starring Josh Hutcherson from The Hunger Games, the movie follows his character as he goes on an expedition to find a lost island with the help of his stepfather, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, a pretty girl, High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens, and her helicopter-pilot father, Cristian Rivera Foundation Committee Member and well-known character actor Luis Guzman—who is pictured to the right with Hutcherson wearing Cristian Rivera Foundation wristbands at a 2011 concert supporting the foundation. Luis Guzman is so funny in this movie. He offers lots of comic relief to go along with the romance, the adventure and the great 3D special effects. You’ll feel like you’re on the island with them and you’ll be rooting for the characters from the beginning. It’s a nice story about bonding with friends and family, and not giving up on you dreams. We highly recommend it.

25th Anniversary of ‘Titanic’: How Titanic Became an Under-the-Surface Sensation in Taliban-Ruled Afghanistan
In honor of Titanic’s 25th anniversary, the iconic movie will be shown in movie theaters on February 10th this year. Because of how iconic this movie was internationally, there is an interesting story behind how the people in Afghanistan were able to see the movie when it was released, as they were under Taliban rule. All forms of entertainment were outlawed in Afghanistan when the Taliban initially took power there in the 1990s. Residents of Kabul and other cities frequently describe finding video and audiotape ribbons that were torn to pieces as if they had also been executed.
