Born on June 23rd, 1994, Jung HoYeon is a South Korean model and actress from Seoul, best known for portraying Kang Sae-byeok in Squid Game. She started modeling at the age of 15, and she began working as a model a year later, at 16. She participated in Korea’s Next Top Model in 2011, and she signed with ESteem models in 2012.

She was featured in the Korean editions of magazines such as W, Elle, and Vogue before signing with The Society Management in 2016 and leaving Korea to pursue a career overseas, specifically in New York. After dying her hair a raging red color, she discovered her signature look.

She made her international runway debut in September 2016 during New York Fashion Week. Since then, she has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, Love, and W; and was featured in campaigns for Sephora and Gap. She won the Asian Star Award at the 2019 Asian Model Awards. During her modeling career, Jung has walked on runways for Burberry, Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta, Chanel, and Gucci, as well as appearing in commercials for Hermès, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton.
