Kylie Cosmetics Teases New Lip Products

Kylie Jenner’s makeup company, Kylie Cosmetics, rose to popularity in 2015 with the launch of Kylie Lip Kits, a liquid lipstick and lip liner set. Six years later, the company has reached 25 million followers on Instagram.

Kylie Cosmetics has partnered with several other celebrities for makeup collections, including members of Kylie’s own family. Recently, Kylie worked with famous model and sister Kendall Jenner to create the line Kendall by Kylie Cosmetics. Their makeup collection sold out on the Kylie Cosmetics site in 24 hours.

In 2018, Kylie Cosmetics began selling their products at Ulta Beauty. The brand is known for pop-up shops located inside Topshops, where Kylie often does meet and greets with fans.

The brand deleted all of its Instagram pictures in early May and posted a polaroid photo of Kylie with the caption “something is coming.” Since then, only two photos have been added to the account. One includes a video of packaging for a new lip kit product. The caption advertises the new product as “lightweight” and “smudge resistant,” and guarantees “8 hour wear.”

The most recent post shows Kylie applying her new “high gloss” product, which will be “available in 30 shades, vegan, non-sticky,” and “gently soften lips” with “the most beautiful mirror shine finish.”

In regard to a product release date, the Kylie Cosmetics Instagram says that the new collection is “#comingsoon.” Fans of Kylie’s makeup line will have to follow her social media closely to remain up to date on the products’ availability, as her 2015 lip kits were famous for selling out in a matter of hours.

Where Does Our Makeup Come From: the Origins of Our Favorite Products

Although men and women have been wearing makeup for centuries, the beauty industry today is a far cry from where it began. All across the world, people in ancient Egypt, Rome, and China used coal, beeswax, henna, almonds, lead, berries and copper in various ways as makeup. Today, however, makeup lovers have never been farther away from the origins of the products they love.
The makeup sold today is generally a mixture of water, oil, and wax. Along with certain chemicals which act as preservatives, emulsifiers, or are just added in for ease of application. The third ingredient necessary for the colorful shimmery eyeshadows, blushes, lipsticks, and lipglosses are minerals.

The beauty industry was robust before the creation of the internet, but since its invention the industry has only continued to boom.

Futurism: The Beauty Trend That’s Changing How We Understand Beauty

Fashion month has revealed many budding trends and themes in the world of all things fashion and beauty, but one that has been particularly prominent is futurism. Futurism is a theme that has emerged on runways and in the streets, but what exactly is it? Well, if you’re struggling to understand the aesthetic that encapsulates the term, then think of old sci-fi movies; the way directors would have styled characters from the future, other dimensions, or alien planets, is in essence, futurism. It is a way of styling clothes or doing hair and makeup to look well- futuristic. That being said, it may seem kind of odd that this trend is emerging right? I mean, most people don’t immediately think of aliens from Star Wars when they think of the word “beauty.” But designers and make-up artists have been turning heads with some of their latest looks.
