Lil Kim Confirms Upcoming Biopic

Rapper Lil’ Kim had confirmed that an official biopic is in the works. After speaking with the New York Post, Kim confirmed that a biopic about her life is on the way at the 50th Birthday Party for the late Biggie Small Friday, May 20. According to the interview, there is no word about who will play Kim, but it is said to closely mirror her memoir, which will be published and available for purchase later this year.

Not only did Lil’ Kim sit down for an interview with The New York Post, but she also interviewed with People magazine, in which she stated, “I’m excited to get to tell my story after all this time finally. Many people have thought they knew the story of Lil’ Kim, but they have no idea.”

The memoir titled “The Queen Bee” is said to explore Lil’ Kim’s career over the course of 30 years, which has been under the spotlight since her debut album in 1995 titled ‘Hard Core.’ Hard Core, produced by The Notorious BIG, sold over five million units worldwide. According to its official description, “The Queen Bee” includes many unpublicized moments that happened in Lil’ Kim’s life. In the description, it states that it will consist of “her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she fought to change through sex positivity, the challenging double standard of self-image and beauty in the spotlight, and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in prison.” Kim is also said to detail her intimate relationship with the late Biggie Smalls while he was married to singer Faith Evans.

The rapper also teased that there would be a “Tell-All” before the release of both her biopic and her memoir, in which she will give details about both of the upcoming projects.

There is no set date for either her memoir or biopic release. However, the book is scheduled for publication via Hachette Books.
